Playground Games, the British video game developer behind the popular Forza Horizon series and the upcoming Fable reboot, has increased its number of employees to 430 according to LinkedIn and Growjo, making it one of the largest studios in the UK and making it as big as Bethesda Game Studios (450 employees) by employee count.
The studio, which was founded in 2010 and acquired by Microsoft in 2018, has been growing steadily over the years, adding new talent and expertise to its two teams: one focused on racing games and the other on the open-world action RPG Fable.
According to the studio’s website, Playground Games currently has 65 vacancies across various disciplines, such as art, design, engineering, production, and more. You can even find Harve Gengler, the Principal Designer on Fable posting job vacancies regularly on X (formerly twitter).
Playground Games is known for its high-quality and innovative games, which have received critical acclaim and commercial success. The studio’s latest release, Forza Horizon 5, was launched in 2018 and has sold over 12 million copies worldwide. The game also won several awards, including the BAFTA Games Award for British Game in 2022.
The studio’s next project, Fable, is a reboot of the Fable franchise and is highly anticipated. Playground Games also working on another Forza Horizon game.
